ARTIST PROFILE
RETA ROSS
This artist’s works feature flowers, water scenes, people, buildings, landscapes, birds and animals. Watercolors and acrylics are favorite mediums. She crafted her artistic skills through a series of workshops and leisure courses, supplemented by ongoing tutorials.
After studying writing at University of Western Ontario in London, Reta completed courses at the Writing School of QOC in Ottawa, Ontario where she earned her certificate in Creative Writing.
Following the success of her two romance novels, Artful Deception* and Focused Desire*, Ross wrote Retro Flex* her first book of short stories followed by A Parting Shot, a mystery. She currently produces booklets, designing and painting the covers for these short stories.
When living in Goderich, Ontario, her home town, she was a member of the Art Club and the Goderich Co-Op Gallery. For ten years her paintings were presented in these popular venues and she happily enjoyed brisk sales. Currently living in Strathroy she is active in the local artists and writers groups.
Reta’s paintings have been exhibited in the Huron County Museum, Hensall by Design Art Show, Blyth Festival’s Bainton Gallery, and regular Goderich events such as the Harvest Festival, the Arts and Crafts Festival, the Art Club’s annual show and sale also the Reuben R. Sallows Gallery, plus the Livery Theatre where she was the feature artist for a Co-Mingle Fete.
She has found that her participation, over the past five years, in The Strathroy Art Group’s annual Art in The Park to be a rewarding experience.
