The Art Group was founded by Blanche Nethercott, and has played an integral part in the cultural life of the community since its inception in 1964. 

We are a small, grass-roots organization, currently with approx. 40 members ranging in age from young to not-so-young, amateur to professional, who work in a wide range of mediums, including paintings in watercolour, acrylic and oil, custom wood items, photography, jewellery, textiles, sculpture and art glass.

Our mandate is to promote, assist and encourage the arts to all members of the community, particularly the creative development of young people, by providing affordable and accessible art-related programming, and a forum for local artists, artisans and craftspeople to meet, learn, share ideas and exhibit their work.

We endeavor to maintain a variety of art-related programs and activities for the community, for both members and non-members, of all ages and levels of experience. New members are always welcome.
