Hope Hall
Hi, my name is Hope Hall. I was born in Ontario and still live here to this day.
I am primarily a self taught artist. I learn by experimenting with various mediums and textures from paint to paper to fiber and everything in between. I have taken occasional classes to help learn more about various techniques and also find the internet a valuable source of inspiration. I like to learn new things where creativity is concerned. I try to repurpose supplies whenever I can.
I started out by drawing and colouring nature, birds and flowers mostly and colouring them in pencil crayon. I still have what is left of my original set of pencil crayons that I keep for memento reasons. I experienced my first mini art show in grade 6 when my teacher displayed my drawings on the class bulletin board. I also love to photograph nature but mostly for personal use.
I took Art classes all through public school and high school and then work sort of pushed it all to the back burner so to speak. Then 2 beautiful children ignited the burner and I've been creating again ever since.
I joined The Art Group of Strathroy/Caradoc in 2009 and have enjoyed the group immensely. I especially love the events where I get to display and show my creative side. Art in the Park was my first event and I was hooked from then on. I have been a member of the executive off and on throughout my membership. I learned that penmanship is definitely not my thing so being a secretary for the group was definitely not helpful. Lol.
I have recently discovered the excitement of Paint Pouring and I like that no two pieces are identical. I used to be a very detailed and a realist type of artist until health issues convinced me to try new styles. This opened up a whole new world of art for me. My family and friends joke with me that I have my own arts and craft store in my home. Lol.
I also have a passion for fiber. Through the Strathroy Pioneer Treadlers I have learned to wash, card, spin, weave and knit/crochet wool, llama, alpaca, and angora goat fibers. And I get to incorporate me art by dying the fleece and yarn I create to make unique one of a kind colours.
My contact information is: hopelhall63@gmail.com if you wish to learn more of what I create.
